COPALUM CRIMPING
IF YOUR HOUSE OR BUILDING WAS BUILT BETWEEN 1965 AND THE MID SEVENTIES IT'S IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ BELOW:

Electrical wiring installed in homes and additions between 1965 and the mid seventies may contain aluminum wiring.  A national survey conducted by Franklin Research Institute for the "Consumer Products Safety Commission " (CPSC) showed that homes wired with aluminum are 55 times more likely to have one or more wire connections at outlets reach "FIRE HAZARD CONDITIONS" than homes wired with copper.

Failing aluminum-wired connections seldom provide easily detected warning signs and have been reported to fail and overheat without any prior indications or problems.

The CSPC approves only three methods for a permanent repair.

1) Complete Replacement of Copper Cable
2) COPALUM Method of Repair (must be COPALUM certified)
3) Acceptable Alternative Repair Method/ AlumiConn Connector

Harborfields Electrical Contracting, Inc. is a licensed and insured electrical company, one of the few COPALUM  Certified Electrical Contractors on Long Island.  Only electricians who are trained by the manufacturer to use the tools properly are authorized to install COPALUM connectors.  Harborfields Electrical Contracting has already completed over 600 dwellings in the Long Island area.  We are equipped to handle all three methods.
